By way of Carnegie Mellon Drama Department, G. L. Rockey earned a B.A. from Michigan State University and entered the television industry. From Providence to Phoenix and cities in between, he produced and directed a variety of television programs and managed station programming. Awarded a Master Degree, he taught at Cleveland State University.

Rockey has published four works of fiction. The first is a highly acclaimed novel, THE JOURNALIST. Said to have “a frightening ring of a truth” by Sun Times news’ reviewer Sam Boyer, Zumaya executive editor Elizabeth Burton writes, “Novel eerily presages current events.” THE JOURNALIST received a five star (outstanding, engrossing, a classic) rating and earned "Book of the Year" status and is soon to be re-released as REDACTED!

A second novel, mystery/suspense, TIME&CHANCE, set in Nashville received top reviews including a HOT one from Romantic Times.

G.L.'s third novel, TRUTHS OF THE HEART is a romance/suspense novel that sizzles with emotion in an explosion of conflict and passion. "Not for the weak of heart," reviewer Detra Fitch (The Huntress) says, adding "G. L. Rockey's style of writing makes everything fast paced . . . story is moving and at times even inspirational." Rockey also penned a collection of sixteen short stories, "BATS IN THE BELFRY, BELLS IN THE ATTIC."

Rockey, currently a free lance writer for a publisher of six regional journals, has also written a non-fiction work, FROM THE BACK OF THE HOUSE: Memories of a Steak House Clan which chronicles a families' zany life in the restaurant business.

Work-in-progress include MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND, a crime and mystery novel knotted in suspense is an earthy story set in 1950 rural Indiana. Other novels in progress are FIVE STAR REVIEW, a contemporary romance, and BOOLEAN TRAVELER, satire science fiction set in 2020.
